Economy grows by five percent in first quarter: SBP

A report by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) of the first quarter of the fiscal year indicates that the Growth domestic product GDP of the country grew by five per cent in the first phase of the fiscal year, radio Pakistan reported.

The report sheds light on the large-scale manufacturing started with in the year and notes that the inflation has decreased to a single digit.

Economists consider it a positive gesture and indicate it as ecologically beneficial for the economy of Pakistan.

In the last quarter of the previous year, the economy grew at a scale of 2.9 per cent as compared to the 5 per cent growth in the first quarter.
