GSP status to boost trade by $1.5bn: PM

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has highlighted to increase and diversify the local exports for rapid economic growth in inaugural speech of Pakistan Auto Show 2014 in Lahore today, Radio Pakistan reported.

While addressing the ceremony he said that 76 percent of exports are currently restricted to 20 countries only. However, he added that the government is planning to maximize the GSP plus status granted to Pakistan by European Union EU.

He conveyed that the GSP plus status would allow Pakistan to export 90 percent goods to European market enhancing trade by 1.5 billion dollars.
