Pakistan ready to import power from India

After the World Bank’s approval to finance the feasibility study Pakistan has sent initial plan of the power trade deal to India in spite of opposition from various lobbies, reported Express Tribune.

A senior government official said that as the World Bank has offered to finance the feasibility study and installation line to import 1200 MW power initial draft has been handed over to Indian counterparts in a recent meeting.

India will respond to Pakistan’s draft after reviewing it carefully. In the initial stage 500 MW power will be imported from the eastern neighbor while it will be extended to 1200 MW in the later stage.
