US military aid created corruption in Afghanistan: SIGAR

According to Special Inspector general for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) John F. Sopko, US massive military aid to Afghanistan’s government is creating opportunities for corruption in Afghanistan, reported RT news.

Sopko said that US was paying ghost workers in Afghanistan’s paramilitary forces unknown sum of money from the US tax payers money that is curbing the Afghan government abilities.

He pointed out that the US has no accountability of the funds that are filled in the Afghan treasury saying ‘that is frustrating’.

He added that if the US military does not get serious about the corruption in Afghanistan it would lose its ‘longest war’.
