US military will shut down research facility HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research program) later this year due to lack of funds, as per a news on The Verge.
The facility which is located in Alaska, used $5 million a year to stay working. Currently the research facility is conducting its last research.
It is under the control of the US Air Force and US Navy, was additionally funded by DARPA and University of Alaska, that were using it for research in ionosphere to improve communication and surveillance system both for civilian and defense purposes.
There are many books published that assert the research facility is being used by westeners and creating drought or affecting weather conditions of different countries. However, the west denies all thse allegations.
Interestingly, In 2011, Former Iranian president Ahmadinejad had claimed that the research facility HAARP was used to cause droughts in many muslim countries. He said "According to reports on climate, whose accuracy has been verified, European countries are using special equipment to force clouds to dump" reported telegraph.
However, HAARP website, that closed in 2013, has denied the claims by the Former president of Iran saying that the research facility is a consortium of universities and does not serve military purposes.
The announcement of the closure of such a research facility that was allegedly involved in causing damage to other countries has surprised a lot of people, who assume that the WEST must be having some better stuff that is why they are closing the Research facility.
