US hunts for weapon buyers post Afghan war

US is looking for ‘potential recipients’ for its old military stock said a statement released today by US embassy in Pakistan.

According to the statement released, US has made available its old military equipment to various countries including Afghanistan.

The weapons distribution program known as Excess defense articles (EDA) program is open to all eligible countries.

However, US is reviewing the potential recipients and decision will be made after reviewing and analyzing the case of all states.

The report further said that the EDA stock might include weapons from outside of Afghanistan.

Final decision about the EDAs is still under consideration.
