Pakistan may get US military equipment: US embassy

US embassy in Pakistan raised hopes by issuing a statement today that US is currently reviewing request for excess defense articles (EDA) to be transported to Pakistan.

US said that the equipment from Afghanistan will not be brought back to the homeland instead it will be deployed elsewhere.

The released statement said that if the Pakistan request of EDA is approved, US will ship stock outside of Afghanistan to Pakistan.

However, it added that the EDA are made on case by case basis with consideration of various factors including security dynamics and potential ability of recipients to handle EDAs.
