Around 2,176 US soldiers have died in Afghanistan from the start of war as per the official figures stated by US defense department on Tuesday.
According to a release of US defense department, around 2,176 soldiers died in Afghanistan until 25th march 2014. Out of these deceased soldiers, 1,802 soldiers were killed in action (KIA) while 372 soldiers died in non-hostile environment.
While the figures of US soldiers that were injured during the last decade of war stand at 19,506.
The report was released at 10 am on 25th mar, Tuesday. US defense department named the operation ‘Operation Enduring Freedom’ OEF.
