US, one of the chief influencer in Afghanistan has showed an uncertainty about its future with US intelligence agencies saying that their major ‘interest’ is to ‘stay’ in the region to keep a hold and continue to conduct counter terrorism missions.

As per Newyork Times, International military commander General Joseph F Dunford Jr has cited concern that Al-qaeda might regroup and stage another attack on the west if the ISAF forces withdrew from the region.

The General states that the longer it takes for the new Afghan president to be elected the difficult it would be for the forces to stay in the region. ‘If it goes till September, you will enter a period of high risk due to the work overload and re-deployment of soldiers’.

However, Pakistan military leaders on the other hand are overjoyed by the Afghan elections. The Director ISPR Major General Asim Bajwa tweeted as per Samma TV that it is heartening to see Great Election ‘fervor’ and ‘massive’ turnout.

Moreover, Indian government has termed the Afghan elections as an act of ‘resounding terror’ stating, on the hindu, that the Afghan people, including women have rejected the ideology of terrorism in loud and clear terms.
