Pak COAS remembers Gyari victims

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif in a visit, to pay homage to Gyari victims, to Head Quarter Special Service Group, Tarbela, said that Pakistan army will not shy away from sacrifices and will do everything to protect its homeland, reported ISPR.

The visit was specially made by the COAS to pay tribute to the martyred soldiers of Pakistan army who fell victim to a land slide in Gyari sector, Siachin on 7 april 2012. SSGs of Pakistan are one of the top most elite forces in the world.

COAS while pointing towards the trial of former army Chief Gen. Pervez Musharraf that, ‘Pakistan army upholds the holiness of all institutions but will preserve its own dignity as well’.

It should be noted that former Gen. Pervez Musharraf is currently under trial by the Pakistan special court for the act of treason and illegal changes to the constitution.

It has also been observed that the remarks by the COAS may be related to the unnecessary release of militants by the Ministry of Interior of Pakistan.

Moreover, Chief up held the Pakistan army and specifically the SSGs for their complex and challenging job and praised them for their outstanding efforts in sustaining peace and stability in the region.
