India, Pakistan, China to display naval power

In an exceptional display of solidarity, naval ships from India, Pakistan and China will take part in joint exercises being organized to celebrate 65th anniversary of Chinese People’s liberation army.

As per a news story by PTI on NDTV, It is said that INS Shivalik, an Indian stealth frigate, will show prowess in International fleet review being organized by PLA navy at Qingdao port of China on April 23 and 24.

Surprisingly, the naval frigate will be taking part alongside Pakistani naval fleet and many others that are also invited to the event.

The year 2014 is declared as ‘Year of friendly exchanges’ between China and India as reported on Indian embassy website.

Chinese officials expect Chinese President Xi Jingping will attend the event.

It should be noted that India has already taken part in one such event in 2009 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of PLA

INS Shivalik will dock at Shangahai port a second time, the first time it docked was for a good will tour to China.

China and India are considering a maritime cooperation initiate. China has asked India to join its Maritime Silk Road initiative.

However, the dialogue will be finalized between rear admiral rank officers of India and China said Hindustan Times.
