Iran military to hold UAV, cyber drill

Iran Army ground force Brig. Gen Ahmad Reza Pourdastan asserted that Iran army ground force would stage four-day drills including two expert war games, in a press conference about the plans of Iran Army day today (Saturday), reported  Tasnim News.

‘The Eqtedar’ - ‘Might’, four-day drill by Iran border guards will include three drills. Two expert drills will include expert drone drill that will be held in either Aliabad or Qom and cyber drill.

The expert drone drill will include latest unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) named ‘Yasir’ that was unveiled by Iran in 2013. The drone ‘Yasir’ is capable of high flight and is produced locally by Iran

Second expert drill will be expert cyber drill to counter cyber-attacks. The commander in relation to the drills said that ‘the Jihad unit of the Iran army has made significant progress in modern electronic warfare systems’.

Other drills will be scheduled in southwestern region of Iran and active artillery, armory, airborne and UAV divisions will participate in them.

Around 4000 Iranian border guards will participate in the drills, the General added.

Commander of the Iranian Border Guards Units General Hossein Zolfaqari said that the drills would test the level of cooperation of the Iranian armed forces and the hardware of militia including state of the art technology of UAV, bulletproof vests and cameras systems, reported Fars news.

The Iran military drills will start from April 13.

Pourdastan had earlier added that military drills are of significant importance to Iran army and are a way of testing Iran’s capabilities.

‘When enemies will watch our military practicing with weapons, it will not dare attack us’. He added.

50-caliber firearm to be unveiled


The Brigadier general Ahmad Reza Pourdastan stated that a new six-barrel firearm named ‘Moharram’ would be unveiled on April 20.

The weapon is locally manufactured by Iranian military expert. The 50-caliber firearm is capable of high speed shooting.
