According to Center for International Security expert Petr Topychkanov from Russian Academy of Science, as stated on VOR, the deal might strengthen Iran’s position in the nuclear talks with the six major countries.
Adding that Iran may use it to come to a better position on the peace table as the sanctions from the west will delimit in influence after $20 billion oil for goods deal gets sealed.
In more surprising news, it has been revealed that Russian experts are assuming that S300 missile defense system might also be part of the deal. As Executive Director hawkish Foundation Mark Dubowitz, an expert from Russia on Iran sanctions states on News.az that Russia might send S300 defense missile system to Iran.
It should be noted that weapons selling to Iran is banned by the UN in the wake of Iran nuclear program however, Russia, a security council permanent member, can use the loophole that allows UN states to send Iran air defense weaponry.
S300 missile is one of the top-notch defense systems of Moscow and is equal to US counterpart Patriot missile system.
Iran to prowess power on April 18
In a relative development, Iran’s military commander Maj Gen Ataollah Salehi has said that Iran military is fully prepared revealing that Iran will prowess its force on National day of Iran’s armed forces April 18.
He further adds that Iran’s enemies are withdrawing as they have realized Iran’s power and have failed in their objectives. Further adding, “If we face a threat, we will respond to it strongly and firmly” as per Press Tv.
It should be noted that US and Israel have recently threatened Iran of a military action against its nuclear program. Previous week Iran had a comprehensive session of talks on nuclear deal with West however, no settled outcome was achieved reports Jpost.
In this scenario, Russia, who is also being threatened to be sanctioned by west, sees Iran as its closest ally and perceives bargaining opportunities of oil-for-goods between the duo as of beneficial interest to both the countries.
