Two Indian soldiers killed by rebels amid elections

Maoists Rebels attacked an army vehicle with explosives killing two Indian military soldiers in state of Bihar.

The Indian military troops were patrolling near a rebel stronghold in Munger area of Bihar when the assailants attacked the military vehicle killing two Indian soldiers and injuring three others as stated on Time.com via PTI.

Rebels want the people to boycott Indian elections.

India is currently in its first week of six-week long elections, one of the world’s biggest elections with registered voter count of 81.4 crore people. Digital elections are taking place on 160 seats.

Maoists, who want communism in India, had earlier warned the public to resist elections however, elections kicked off as planned told Jitendra Rana, a police officer of Indian police.

Indian elections are supposed to close on May 12 and results to be announced on May 16.
