Pakistan will not get US military equipment: US

US have denied all media reports that claimed that US military would provide around seven billion dollar military equipment to Pakistan, reported defense one.

US military said in a statement that all the reports were false. Previously The Washington post reported that US military would provide seven billion dollar worth MRAPs (Mine resistant ambushed vehicles) to Pakistan.

The US military statement further said that it does not intend to provide military equipment from Afghanistan to Pakistan.

It should be noted that US military is trying to discard off all military equipment that it does not want back in United States. As the equipment would be expensive to transport and due to its depreciation, maintenance cost would be much higher back in US.

However, Pakistan was interested in MRAPs because of the terrorist attacks on Pakistan military convoys in terror-stricken areas of Pakistan.

Afghanistan deserves US military equipment: Afghan President

In a relative development, a spokesperson for Afghanistan president Hamid Karzai has said, to Voice of America, that Afghanistan deserves this (MRAPs) type of equipment and US should consult it before making any choices.

US are awaiting an agreement with Afghanistan that will allow US forces to stay for more time on Afghan soil.
