United States air force instructors are training Afghanistan air force pilots and maintenance crew at Bagram airfield in Afghanistan for future success in wars, reported Af.
According to senior air advisor Sgt Jim Ritchie, as posted on af.mil, ’Iran had an air force, Afghanistan did not, so we are making everything from scratch’.
The team of advisors has been selected to train the pilots and the maintenance crew so the afghan air force units can take care of their own aircraft in the future.
As one Tech instructor of US air force puts it, ‘these are Afghanistan’s aircrafts, so Afghanistan will have to maintain it and we are here to help it do that’.
From some time, US is funding Afghanistan in many ways to bring the economy and the military strength of Afghanistan at par with its neighboring countries.
However, Special Inspector general for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) has cited that US funding is making corruption in Afghanistan.
